Online Marketing could grow 62%
Studies show that online marketing will be the only sort of marketing that will make it through the crisis. This is shown in the Alterian study, where it is said that 62 percent of the marketing field will invest more of its budget in the direct online marketing strategies field. The other 38 percent will maintain its actual investment. On the contrary, offline marketing investment foresees a remarkable decrease in the coming months, a tendency which has existed since 2005.

One can observe that the online tactics and tools that most marketing professionals use in their strategic mix are banners, search engines and e-mail. In 2009 search engine ranking, e-mail marketing, social networks and payment through click campaigns will be a priority.

The most important reasons that move companies in this direction is the low cost of action, the control and the ability of measurement from the evolution process, as well as the speed at which they can create and start new campaigns through new messages and offers, especially for new consumers. Also important is the ability to divide quickly and with precision. To these reasons one also has to add the need of adaptation to the new customer's habits, who invests 20 percent of his time in living in the net.
